Although small, filters are the "protective umbrella" of truck engines. Recently, Volkswagen Auto Parts Co., Ltd. reminded truck drivers and transportation companies: Regular filter replacement is crucial. Neglecting maintenance can cause engine damage and increase repair costs.
Filters mainly include air filters, fuel filters, and oil filters. They are responsible for filtering dust from the air, impurities from the fuel, and contaminants from the engine oil, protecting the engine's internal components from damage.
If filters are not replaced for a long time, the following problems may occur:
A clogged air filter: This can lead to insufficient air intake, increased fuel consumption, and reduced power;
A dirty fuel filter: This can easily clog the fuel injectors and cause starting difficulties;
An aged oil filter: This can hinder oil circulation and increase engine wear. According to the VW technical team, the following recommendations apply:
The air filter should be replaced every 20,000-30,000 kilometers;
The fuel filter should be replaced every 10,000-20,000 kilometers;
The oil filter should be replaced along with the engine oil (every 5,000-10,000 kilometers).
VW filter products utilize high-efficiency filter materials, and some models are equipped with smart sensors that monitor filter status in real time, reminding users to replace the filter promptly.
Even a small filter is crucial to the safety and efficiency of the entire vehicle. Regular replacement not only extends engine life, but also saves fuel, reduces failure rates, and ensures smooth delivery.
